How To: Kinder Chocolate Cupcakes

Happy Easter everybody!

I was browsing through Youtube videos yesterday and I saw Zoe Sugg's new video, where she baked Creme Egg cupcakes. I loved the idea, but Creme Eggs are not sold anywhere near where I live.

Therefore I exchange them for Kinder small eggs and basically did the same process.

If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely something for you!

Ingredients:

40g butter
100g plain flour
20g cocoa powder
140g caster sugar
2tsp baking powder
pinch of salt
120ml milk
1 egg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Buttercream:
100g butter
200g icing sugar
1tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp milk

How To:

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C.
2. Put the butter into a mixer. Add the flour, cocoa powder, caster sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix.

3. While it's mixing, mix the milk, egg and vanilla extract together and slowly add to the dry mixture.

After the mixture is combined together, it's gonna look something like this:

4. Prepare your cupcake baking sheet and pour the mixture into it. It's better to pour it rather than spoon as it's quite runny.

Put a kinder or a creme egg into the middle of each cupcake. Keep in mind that they have to be frozen. You can also alternate it with a piece of chocolate, jam or whatever you'd like.

Bake the cupcakes for 20-25 minutes total.

5. For the buttercream, beat the butter until it's smooth and fluffy. Add the icing sugar, vanilla extract and milk and continue beating until everything is combined together.

6. Once the cupcakes are done, let them cool down completely.

Now it's time to decorate! I couldn't find any piping bags at home so I ended up just spreading the buttercream on top with a spoon. It didn't look as good, but hey, they tasted amazing!

Cut any leftover kinder/creme eggs into halves and put them on top of your cupcakes. To finish everything, drizzle some chocolate on top.

These are so yummy! They took me about an hour to make in total, which is super quick for something so delicious like this.

Hope you enjoyed today's post. Thank you for reading..
