6. St. Nicholas Day in Slovakia | Blogmas 2015

Today I decided to take a little break from all the beauty and baking tutorials and focus on something that happened today. I just got back home so while I'm defrosting, I thought I'd write something about today.

Today is the sixth of December, which means the sixth day of Blogmas, but St. Nicholas day as well. I'm not sure how people celebrate it in other countries, maybe it's a same thing, but I wanted to share the way we do it in Slovakia.

Traditionally, when you go to sleep on the fifth of December, you put your boots next to your bed. (This is usually for children, ha-ha!) The next morning, you find them filled with sweets. Some people just give each other packs of sweets instead, or don't celebrate it at all.

Every year there's a big show with fireworks. This year was no exception. To be honest me and my friends almost froze outside, but it was worth it. I feel like it's getting better every year and it's events like this when you realise you're so grateful for the people around you.

Unfortunately I didn't take any photos, but here's one I found online. The show was so much better, lol, but like I said I couldn't find any pics.

This would be everything about the St. Nicholas day here in Slovakia. This day, a year ago I posted few photos of the show that I took myself. You can take a look if you want to:

As always, thank you for reading!
Love,
Bonnie.xoxo
