10. DIY: Glitter Nail Polishes | Blogmas 2015
Wooot wooot! Another day is here and a brand new DIY post as well. I wasn't originally planning on doing this, but I ended up wanting to try something new.
Most tutorials will probably tell you to use crushed Christmas ornaments, however I'm here to tell you I did that last year and it's very dangerous! Remember, you need to crush them very smooth and be careful not to touch it with your hands. The dust is actually small pieces of glass. I ended up getting it on my hands and once I tried to dust it away, the crushed pieces started cutting my skin. It sounds worse than it was, but it wasn't a good feeling, I can tell you.
Therefore I do not recommend crushing any glass objects, unless you are protected. This year I decided to do it a bit more safely. I had some straws from last New Year's Eve with colourful stripes.
You can use any Christmasy things from the long stripes you put on a Christmas tree, to confetti. Anything that you can cut into small pieces. Then just put them into clear nail polishes and shake the bottles to mix it.
The whole process took me about an hour.
They look very soft. Although I'm sure they'd look more intense with black nail polish underneath.
Love,
Bonnie.xoxo
