Enjoy The Little Things

A year ago I was a girl who thought she was doing her best. Year later I realized it was not enough.

When you have a dream and you are doing everything to make it a reality, you often get burned. I know I did. I believe everyone is equal, simply because we all have same needs. The way people see you doesn’t define who you are. It took me a long time to realize that. Blinded by the magazines, I spent too much time trying to be perfect.

After a long period of time a single thought appeared in my head.

What even is perfection?

It was that time I also realized I was doing something wrong. The problem is we don’t see what we already have. It bugs me to see people not enjoying life, especially because I used to be that person. And without being judgmental, I want to say it doesn’t really matter WHAT you are going through. It’s more how you feel about it. Whilst you are feeling down because of something, other people can feel down about other things.

I’m not here to solve your problems. I’m here to remind you how magical life can be. And all you have to do is to pay attention to small things around you. So you failed your test, at least you had a good lunch. So you are in love with someone who doesn’t love you back, at least you have friends. I could go on and on.

It’s never as bad as you think it is. You just have to change your attitude. That’s all I can say. That’s the only way I can help you. I’m not saying you should be happy about a bad situation. Life is a bumpy ride, honey. But instead of being depressed, take a walk around your neighbourhood. Look at the sky, because I guarantee you, there are way greater things out there.

If you are feeling down for longer time, maybe weeks, maybe months, maybe years, I’m sure somewhere deep there you know it shouldn’t be like that. You have a map in front of you, it’s only and only on you what road you choose.

And if you don’t know where to start, it’s simple. Start with the most casual things. Be grateful for nature, for free education, for food, for the ability to see, hear or walk. Be grateful for freedom. Few years ago, not everyone was able to travel and get to know the world. Be grateful for your parents, cause in front of them, you don’t have to pretend, and they still truly love you.

Life is way too short to waste it by being depressed for too long. In fact I don’t think we really see it’s shorter with every second.

1, 2, 3. Tick-tock. Make the most of it!
