RIMMEL LONDON LASTING MATTE RANGE

Whenever a package comes to my door I burst with excitement, as I can't wait to try everything and let you know my thoughts. This one is different though.

LASTING MATTE PRIMER

My oily skin fell in love with this primer from the first time I ever put it on. I am close to finishing it already, luckily they also sent me a back-up! And this one is waiting for you!

The consistency of this primer is close to a cream moisturizer, which means it is not too heavy but will fill in your pores just fine. It does not contain silicons, hence it does not slide around and actually sticks to the skin. That is the main reason why I love it so much. Oily skin does not combine well with silicons, as silicon cannot absorb oils and starts moving around after a while. On top of that it dries matte.

LASTING MATTE FOUNDATION

This foundation is a little tricky, I'm not going to lie. It has a mousse consistency and despite being described as lightweight, it is super heavy. It is truly great for oily skin as it is completely matte and full coverage. In fact, it is so matte that you wouldn't even need to use a powder on top.

Things to be aware of:

• it does NOT work on top of dewy or silicon-y primers (you need something sticky and matte, such as the Lasting Matte Primer)
• it is SUPER FULL COVERAGE and there is no way to make this light weight
• it works BEST with a SPONGE
• it does NOT work with liquid concealers (you need something creamy and heavy)

If you have acne and you are looking for something that will hide it, this is great! However, if you do not like a heavy matte finish, you might want to try something else.

I personally LOVE full coverage for my videos and when I take photos of my makeup. But I do not reach for this for everyday wear, especially now in summer time. It does what it promises, just be patient with the application. It took me a couple of tries to get used to it.

LASTING MATTE CONCEALER

In terms of the concealer, it has a medium coverage and the consistency is rather liquid-like. In summer, I like to wear it even with no foundation underneath.

One thing to be aware of: It does NOT work with the Lasting Matte Foundation. This could be 100% me, however I have tried them together multiple times and it always breaks down the foundation and leaves me with random naked spots.

The theory behind this could be that the foundation, being so heavy and thick, does not blend well with light and liquid-like products. So this is just something to be aware of. It works perfectly fine with any other foundation I've tried. I think the problem is the mousse formula of the foundation, so no need to be scared of the concealer at all.
