HOW I ROCK BLACK LIPSTICK

Have you ever put on a black lipstick and burst into laughter because you looked ridiculous?

Don't worry, me too.

That black lipstick can, believe it or not, look very sexy though. There are a couple of tips you should follow and I guarantee you, they will make ANY bold lipstick work!

At first, look at these photos and guess what these tips could be:

Right, now let's talk about what you've observed.

1. Clothing - This should be no surprise, as you would most likely be aware of this rule when choosing any lipstick on day to day basis. Wearing an all pink outfit? Red lipstick might just not fit. Wearing something less colourful? Why not add some extra love in a bright pink lipstick form?

Details create a whole. Never forget that. Pair your makeup accordingly to your outfit so you don't end up looking overwhelming to the eye. When it comes to black, similar to shoes and bags, you can pair it with anything. However, an all white outfit or a boho style dress might look a little confusing with black lips. This particular lip is rather edgy, so your outfit should match that.

Wear a pair of jeans with a white shirt, that's fine too. Pair it with some edgy jewellery and you're good to go!

2. Eyes - Similar to your outfit, your eyes should not fight the lipstick either. It is important to note that a black lipstick is crazy on its own. Hence pairing it with a bold colourful eye is not the best way to go (on daily basis, creative looks are an exception).

Big smokey eyes are not the best option either, because it may appear way too dark and goth-like. Unless that is your personal style, you should go much lighter with the eyes. Maybe go for big lashes with some nude eyeshadow or a smudged winged liner like me.

3. Glasses - As you can see, the black frame of my glasses complements the lipstick. If my glasses were of a different colour, that wouldn't have to look so good. Obviously, not everybody wears glasses, but it is important to see details, such as accessories, because like I mentioned earlier, they create the whole look.

But what if people are going to stare at me?

I sincerely hope this question was not on your mind. If it was, however, it's okay. It can be scary to stand out but I'm here to tell you that you are the main character in your movie and standing out is kinda the point. ;)

So take out those bold 'crazy' colours and go at it!

Love,
