HOW TO BOOST YOUR BODY CONFIDENCE | TIPS FROM EXPERIENCE

Spending hours trying to pick an outfit, because nothing seems to look good on you???

Struggling to fully enjoy yourself wherever you go, because you constantly worry about what other people think when they look at you???

Not feeling comfortable when taking your clothes off in front of your partner, even though they keep repeating how beautiful you are???

Sounds familiar? Then I have a couple tips that could help.

Whenever you think about body confidence, think YOU. What do YOU like? What do YOU think looks the best on you? How do YOU feel wearing that skirt. Would you like jeans more?

Nowadays we can feel so much pressure, especially because of social media. The need to dress a certain way, to do our hair a certain way, to wear makeup a certain way. Often times we don’t realise that trends are always changing though. And what is considered ‘beautiful’ today, might not be considered ‘beautiful’ 20 years from now.

So how to deal with all this? Let’s dive into some advice.

      Experiment, but stay comfortable

I often find myself wanting to wear a new makeup look, but not knowing how it will perform during the day and how I will look in it. I also want to try this new dress but I’m not sure how I will look in it. Oh, and also these new heels.

This is a mistake I’d often do. I would try too many new things at once and then I would have nothing to make me feel comfortable. I’d not only be worried about how my makeup looks, but also how the dress looks and on top of that the heels.

I’m not saying you shouldn’t try new things. I’m saying, baby steps. From experience. Wear your usual clothes and try a new lip colour. Wear your usual jeans and try the new shoes. It will be so much easier.

❤  Wear what YOU like

Wearing clothes you like will make you feel a 100% more confident. Don’t feel pressured to wear a dress if you are going to a party. There are so many types of clothing that we are able to find what suits our body and preference at the same time.

❤ Practise at home

Look in the mirror, pick out different outfits and simply try them on. Change up the tops or the trousers. Try different shoes with different trousers. Be creative in the comfort of your own home. And maybe you’ll find new combos you will feel good in.

❤ Pamper yourself

Take care of your body. Relax, do a face mask, take a bubble bath. Anything that will make you feel good. Even for a couple of minutes. It’s very important.

❤ Work out

This doesn’t have to mean killing yourself in the gym. This could mean something simple like doing yoga or stretching for 10 minutes or walking your dog. Walking somewhere instead of taking a bus or driving.

I guarantee you, after the first workout or that extra walk, you’ll feel so much better with your body even if it still looks the same. Remember, it’s your mind, where it all has to start.

I'm far from my goal body and that is exactly why I decided to write this post. To help people like me, who don't have their goal body yet, but want to feel good and comfortable. Remember, curves or not, you are beautiful.
